I am on a mission. A mission to obtain the powder used to make an Orange Julius Tropi-colada Smoothy. (Yes, that is how it is spelled.) It is amazing what you can find out on the Internet. I have so far been able to find out that the powder is NOT available to the public haha. I have also found out it is called CACP = Julius® Smoothy Booster - Coconut Almond Cream Powder. The mix is made of powdered dairy and egg products, specifically non-fat milk, natural cream flavor and egg white solids.
Why am I on this mission? Because it is mine & Veronica's favorite drink. At 5.00 a glass at the mall, we can't get them that often. I only go to the mall once in a while and they are expensive on top of that. We could almost get lunch for the cost of 2 smoothies! (We usually just share 1) Anyway she asks for a smoothie almost daily - so I thought it would be fun to be able to make them at home. Also maybe I could sneak in a little V8 juice for a veggie boost for my picky little eater.
My grocery store does sell single serving packs of powder, but it doesn't taste nearly as good.
Does anyone know how I can get my hands on some of the CACP powder? Or if there is a substitute for it? Or what the other ingredients are? Or the actual recipie? I did ask the woman who owns the local one if she would sell me a package of the powder and she said no. She said how could she stay in business if I stopped buying her smoothies - makes sense. Does anyone have a connection that could get some of the powder for me? I WILL get it - or a very good substitute. I never back down on a mission!!!
